Youville House is a Catholic not for profit assisted living residence and is part of Covenant Health Systems, a New England-wide, health care, elder care and social service system. Youville House welcomes all people regardless of religion, gender, race or place of national origin.
Youville House opened in 1998. The 95-unit, eight story residence, formally a school of practical nursing, offers beautiful living accommodations, support services and a rich and varied social, spiritual, physical and intellectual programming to our residents.
Youville House is part of Youville Lifecare. It is located on a tree lined, 11-acre campus with Youville Hospital, Spaulding Outpatient Rehabilitation Center and Youville Health Associates, an outpatient geriatric primary care center.
Youville was formed by the Sisters of Charity in Montreal (Grey Nuns) in 1895, and is named for their foundress, Saint Marguerite d’ Youville. The original 24-bed cottage hospital changed its focus in the 1940’s from caring for the terminally ill to rehabilitation. In the 1970's the hospital officially changed its name to Youville Hospital and Rehabilitation Center.
Youville House, Youville Hospital and Youville Health Associates believe in community-oriented and values-driven, compassionate care, which is consistent with the original mission and vision of the Grey Nuns of Montreal.
